Terrarium Project
For this Project we were to create a terrarium to whatever ecosystem we desired. My group chose to do Novato Creek side. What we were trying to capture is the types of plants you would see if you went Hiking in Novato near one of the creeks. Our terrarium is land and water, small section is holding water. Our terrarium has an oak tree sapling, ferns, wildflowers, a few worms and poppy's. The worm is a very good attrition for it will help bring nutrients into the soil. Below is a link to our groups terrarium proposal. Of course though, our terrarium isn't exactly as we said it would be. Things are always bound to change.
As you can see our terrarium flourished and also parts of it died off a little. The poppy seeds we planted started to sprout, but the leafs in the water started to die. Part of the reason may be that they were not rooted to anything. Over time you can tell our oak tree was slowly diminishing. I do not believe that it rooted into the soil the correct way. Our terrarium is now had been replanted on a site on campus.
